SPECIAL EVENT

SPECIAL EVENT + SHOPPING OPPORTUNITY

Come one, come all, and hear about some very rich Beaumont history along with live music, spirits, burning of ceremonial candles and fellowship!

Join us for History & Havdalah - Narratives of Beaumont's Jewish Legacy - presented by  Temple Emanuel and Beaumont Heritage Society and hosted by Taluka Trades - Saturday, November 1st. As the sun sets, our lights will come up for a very special occasion!

Havdalah marks the end of Shabbat (the Sabbath) and the start of the new week, and is designed to be accessible to people of all backgrounds - including those whom are not Jewish. As a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, I've enjoyed learning more about the sensory experience and meaningful ritual of Havdalah. Come learn with us!

Preceding the service will be a discussion of history, presented by the Beaumont Heritage Society. The 1929 Greek revival home housing Taluka Trades, celebrating adaptive reuse, was designed and built by the incredibly interesting and altruistic Dr. Phillip Greenberg. As such, 2398 Laurel serves as a fitting first venue for an ongoing narrative of Beaumont's Jewish community, their rich local history, and contributions to the city.

This event is open to all, and all are encouraged to join in learning and fellowship at this elegant and meaningful occasion.

Feel free to share or even print and post this flyer!
