My name is Meghan Cobb. I'm a Southeast Texas artist working in traditional and digital media, including large-scale murals. My first mural was over 7,300sf in downtown Beaumont, leading to a workload that not only allowed me to leave my day job - but to open a vintage shop and design office; featuring a locally built creative collaborative, my personally curated vintage collection for men and women, and various Gulf Coast-themed gifts.
I am a seasoned remodeler and construction + residential surveyor. I know most standard trades myself, have lead multiple crews and have installed over 300,00sf of flooring and tile. This experience is culminated in my latest offering of new-construction drafting and turn-key remodeling. I offer design concepts, blueprints and animated renders of your (re)model including finishes, landscaping and lighting.
In 2020 I designed a rammed earth cabin for a 5-acre parcel I bought in the highest alpine valley in the world (Colorado's San Luis Valley), and was able to execute that design with my husband and small crew for an episode of DIY Network's Building Off the Grid. It was the experience of a lifetime with my family!
In addition to art and construction - event planning and back-of-house at revered local establishments such as Bryan's 797, along with pagination (layout) and print/billboard/radio/TV advertising (graphics, scripts, etc.) for publications such as Beaumont's weekly The Examiner - I incorporate an eclectic set of experiences into my shop and all its offerings.
I love fashion, painting, everything about homes from planning to building to decorating... cooking, parenting, gardening, everything to do with horses, and design in general.
Taluka Trades is located at 2398 Laurel Ave., Beaumont, TX.
Taluka is a combination of my three children's names.
